Morning Coffee Musing

I’m sitting in a coffee shop and just saw a little boy who stole my heart. He could walk by himself but only came up to about his father’s knee. He had a little black mop of hair and was peeking into his bagged doughnut as they left the shop.

I am enjoying Coconut Chai tea with honey and cream. It’s sweet and smooth and satisfying.

I love looking around at people - old and young, familiar and new - visually enjoying their different aesthetics and styles.

One lady sitting at the coffee bar in front of me is wearing slightly cropped and cuffed medium colored jeans; charcoal slip-on Converse with tan leather strings; a simple black Henley, and a black and charcoal zip-up drug-rug-esq sweatshirt. It’s understated, a bit bohemian, and with no makeup, no jewelry, and her hair clipped cleanly behind her head, she has infused smooth sophistication into a casual Saturday morning.

Another lady - just entering - combines style and cozy-athleisure seamlessly. Black joggers and quiet cream and white shoes are the base of her look, coordinating with a black and white baseball hat capping a low and messy blond bun. The showstopper is the white, navy, burgundy, and mustard plaid shirt she wears unbuttoned over a navy sweatshirt with a mustard lining in her hood. She’s warm, comfortable, laid-back, while still effortlessly chic and poised.
