Your Heart's Dependence

Hello, Beautiful Souls,
Just a short note today to encourage our attentiveness to our own neediness and dependence on God.

You can do nothing without Him.
You can hope for your future, you can hustle and look ahead at that undefinable threshold for when you have done enough, and you can work your tail off to get there.

But without Him, you can do nothing.

We are made to "be filled with all the fullness of God" and to "know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge".
So if discerning His Will and acting for the Kingdom of God is not your primary priority, then your life is busy-work.

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God". Eph. 3:14-21

You have to recognize your dependence on Him, and once you grow in this, once you realize how little you are, then you can truly begin to see the abundance of His grace and presence and aid.
He is thus simultaneously the best business partner and soul restorer in existence.
He is simultaneously the one giving aid and the salve being applied to your weary, raw, and broken heart.

He wants us to be "strengthened with might through His Spirit" and "rooted and grounded in love" that we "may have the power to comprehend... the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge" and without which we would all be terribly alone and incapable.

So let's open our hearts, be honest with ourselves about how little we are, and allow ourselves to be held and coddled by the King of the Universe, Who no matter what waits for us with open arms.

Love,
Laney <3
